Ledbury Carnival 2002 : Royal Pageant
Before the Madness!
Ledbury Carnival 2002 took place on Monday 26 August 2002. The 2002 event was the 28th Ledbury Carnival. The theme was Royal Pageant, in conjunction with the celebration of the queen jubilee. Yet again, I had my digital camera, however I ended up taking over 200 photos! I was at 3 locations during the carnival procession. I was at Ledbury Rugby Ground at 11:15, The High Street at 12:35 and Ledbury Primary School at about 12:55. On this and the following few pages, are a collection of digital images of the Event. It was not the best of weather being cloudy but it was the biggest carnival ever staged. An estimated 10,000 people turned up.
The main acts in the 2002 carnival were pop group Red Alert, and Queen B.
Here are the scenes at the judging area at the new location at Ledbury Rugby Club near the by-pass.
